R Dub was born in Chicago Illinois, but spent his childhood in L.A. At 13 years old, R Dub moved to Orlando Florida where he lived for two years, before moving to Tucson at age 15. It's been R Dub's dream to be in radio since he was just 12. He would listen to his favorite radio stations with hopes of one day getting a chance to have his own radio show. During his first summer here in Tucson, at age 15, R Dub landed a job at a mobile DJ company as a DJ for weddings and parties. This was his big break. The next year, at age 16 R Dub had his first experience in radio as a late night host of a Slow Jams show at Tucson's community radio station, KXCI. By the time he turned 17, R Dub landed a weekend postion a It was R Dub currently attends Amphitheater High School and will graduate in 1995.

In his spare time, R Dub enjoys cruising South 6th Avenue, lookin' for hinas, in his ''83 Cutlass Supreme lowrider.
